The 2-7 BC Eagles will travel to North Carolina to take on the Duke Blue Devils, in a matchup that is heavily favored by the 3-2 Blue Devils. The game will be on ACC Network, at 8:30 PM Eastern Time. The Blue Devils lead the all time series 23-3, and this’ll be the 27th meeting all time between these two teams. BC has never won at Duke, all of their 3 wins are in Chestnut Hill.

Duke:

Duke has gotten off to a rough start this season, at least for Duke standards, as they’re 3-2 with losses against Michigan State and Illinois. Two very good teams, but 3-2 is not an ideal start for Duke. Duke will have their second ACC game tonight versus Boston College.  Duke has had games cancelled against Elon and Gardner-Webb, and games postponed against Pittsburgh and Florida State. The last time Duke actually played a basketball game, was December 16th. That might mean a rusty start early on for Duke.

Right now Duke is ranked 21st in the country, and still is the heavy favorite for tonights game.

Boston College:

Boston College comes into this game 2-7, and are coming off of a loss against Louisville. Head Coach Jim Christian was very pleased with the performance, and thought that they played very well, and the shots just weren’t going in. “We were making the extra pass and the nice play, the shots just weren’t going in. And that’s basketball.”

Jay Heath has been heating up as of late for Boston College, averaging 17.7 PPG in his last three games, while shooting 48%. Heath has also became the fifth player in BC history to hit 500 career points in less than 40 career game, and the only one out of those 5 players to not have 20 points in one game. Jay has reached double digits in the scoring column 6 times this year. Heath is just a sophomore and he is already one of the best players on this Eagles team.

Boston College did upset Duke in 2017, and that was at the Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill. Duke was ranked #1 in the country at the time, and BC gave them their first loss of the year. A win would be BC’s first win of all time at the Carmen Indoor Stadium, and the first ACC victory of the season. A loss for BC would keep the Eagles winless in ACC games this season.

Prediction:

Duke should seem a little rusty at first, considering they haven’t played in almost one month, so BC might take the early lead. The Eagles won’t have the lead for too long, and soon the Blue Devils will be in full control. BC will try and try and chuck up threes to try and save themselves, but that’ll only make it worse.

Expect a fight from BC early on, but the energy should rapidly pass away.

82-57, Duke Wins.

Go Eagles!
