The Boston Celtics have done it again. In a revengeful game against the Miami Heat, The Boston Celtics lead on step one to redeeming their Lost in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Jayson Tatum leads the way with 27 points, as he now is averaging 27 PPG this season. Jaylen Brown also had 21. He had some pretty good passes and was clutch towards the end.
Game Flow
First Half
Boston started off this game with a good lead. They were up early 26 to 7 and would finish the first quarter up 34 to 26. The Second Quarter was knotted up between the two teams, giving Boston a 53 to 45 lead at the half.
Third Quarter
The Third Quarter shook things up. Through about the halfway point in the third quarter, the Celtics had not given up their lead. However, the heat did not back down and despite a good Quarter from Tatum. Miami would outscore Boston in the Third and tie it up.
Fourth Quarter
The fourth quarter was a mess for The Miami Heat. They had a lead of one or two for the first half of the fourth. Boston would keep coming back and no backdown. With little time to go Boston took a ten-point lead over the Heat, with 1:17 to go. This game was still far from over though. They climbed back in the ring with two threes from Duncan Robinson tying the game up. The Celtics were out of options on offense and they gave it back to the Heat again. Dragic shot from the corner and missed. Adeybo got the rebound and threw it back out to Dragic again. This time he didn’t miss. It was knotted up at 105-105.
With 13 seconds, Boston inbounded the Ball. Tatum, who had taken two game-winners already this year, brought the ball up. He passed Smart with 7 seconds. Smart drove in, and lays it up as he falls. It’s no good, but Pritcher gets the tap in! Only 0.2 seconds remain. The rookie Payton Pritcher, who only had 6 points, gets the biggest basket of the night for either side. As Boston hangs on and wins their third straight game. Miami would go on to miss the tip in. The horn sounds and Boston beats Miami for the first time this year.
Celtics Recap
This win Gives the Celtics a 6-3 record to start this season. This is very impressive as Boston is still without point guard Kemba Walker (Knee). Kemba has no expected time line to return as of now. However, we are told that it is still far off.
If Boston can continue this kind of play they can go quite far. Jaylen Brown has played exceptionally well basketball, and his numbers are even better than last year in his breakout year where he posted stats that got Boston to the conference finals. With Tatum and Brown scoring 25, 30 even 40 in some games, Boston will be able to go far, especially when they get Kemba back.
Overall, the Celtics played a great game and got a big victory. Stevens did a good job of using Tristan Thomspon to contain Bam Adebayo. Adebayo walked all over Boston in the playoffs last year, and Boston needed someone who could shut down a big like Adebayo. It was also nice to see Boston get a hard-earned victory here. As they have been playing hard lately and they’re on a roll.
