Celtics Game Recap | Sixers Defeat Celtics 119-107

Boston took a heartbreaking loss to the Philadelphia 76ers Wednesday night, going down 117-109. This was definitely an interesting game to see after such a horrific performance by the Celtics against the Knicks on Sunday afternoon.

Celtics

Boston was right in this game till the very end. It was a nice performance by the Celtics despite them losing and not having Tatum. The Celtics had four guys in double figures. Including Kemba Walker with 19, Marcus Smart with 25 , Jaylen brown with 26, and Daniel Theis with 23 off the bench. Overall it was a very encouraging performance. Boston shot 47.2% from the field and just 36.4% from 3. The Celtics ultimately just couldn’t make shots down the stretch to close this game out. But the outcome would probably be different if Tatum was playing.

76ers

The 76ers were able to get the win tonight by making gritty plays and finding ways to get to the foul line, with over 40 shots at the line. Followed by an incredible performance by Joel Embiid with 42 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists. The Sixers had 5 guys score in double figures; Tobias Harris with 22, Danny green with 12, Joel Embiid with 42, Ben Simmons with 11, and Shake Milton with 16 off the bench. The Sixers shot 46.2% from the field and 33.3% from 3 and 36-78 from the foul line. Ultimately a big win by the Sixers tonight making big plays on the defensive end when it mattered most, and it really says a lot about this Sixers team.

Final Thoughts

This was no doubt a winnable game for the Celtics. The Celtics played with much more energy and fire tonight and attacked the rim very well. This game definitely showed the Celtics can play with anybody in the Eastern Conference, considering they did not have Tatum tonight. The Celtics look to bounce back again vs the Sixers on Friday.
