Boston College Hockey Ranks No. 1 in Recent Poll

Boston College has been ranked as the number one team in the latest College Hockey Poll. They improved two spots after being ranked 3rd in the previous week. The Eagles were able to slingshot two spots after winning over New Hampshire, and defeating Merrimack back to back times. Causing them to be on a three game win streak. The Eagles have only suffered 2 losses so far on the year, two consecutive games to UConn in December.

This comes in the first poll update since the Minnesota Golden Gophers were swept at home over the weekend by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Gophers were previously ranked as the number one team in the nation.

The Eagles have had a great year so far and have a lot of professional talent on the team. Having 3 players on the Team USA that won the World Junior Championships. Spencer Knight, Matt Boldy and Drew Helleson defeated teammate Alex Newhook in the Gold Medal Game in early January in Edmonton. All of the players for the Eagles who played on Team USA, have been major contributors to the Eagles success. 

Boston College has to play The University Of Connecticut back to back game this Friday and Saturday. January the 22nd and 23rd. Their only two losses on the year so far were to UConn. This will be a great opportunity for redemption for the Eagles.
