The Boston Bruins beat the Pittsburgh Penguins in the dying seconds of OT by a score of 3-2. Connor Clifton drew in for injured Matt Grzelcyk, with Tuukka Rask between the pipes.
Brad Marchand opened the Bruins scoring on a Connor Clifton cross checking penalty in the first period. This was Marchand’s fourth goal of the season, with an assist from Charlie McAvoy. In the second period on a 5 on 3 power play, Nick Ritchie tipped in the B’s second goal from Marchand. The Bruins would lose Jade DeBrusk to a lower body injury during the second period. The two Penguin goals came in the third period from Jason Zucker and Kasperi Kapanen to force the game into OT. Rask appeared to be hurting prior to Zucker’s goal, but he stayed in the game.
In OT the Penguins had a 2 on 0, but Rask stopped their attempt no problem. With 11 seconds remaining in OT, Craig Smith scores the winning goal with David Krejci and Charlie McAvoy earning the assists.
