Today at 12 O’clock eastern time we got news about Boston College deciding to part ways with their coach of the past seven years, Jim Christian. After a poor year this year, Boston College decided to relieve the duties of the coach after a 3-13 record on the year and 1-9 record in conference play. This was not the only rough year for Jim Christian in his 7 year career at Boston College, his career record at BC was 78-132 overall record and a 26-94 record in ACC conference play in the seven years of coaching there.

Jim Christian only had one winning season with the Eagles, and never reached the NCAA tournament. His winning season was in 2017-2018 year where he brought the Eagles to a NIT appearance but went downhill after that point. Boston College’s athletic director was quoted saying after the firing of Jim Christian:  “Ultimately, the program is not headed in the right direction and though I hesitate to make a mid-season coaching change in any sport, now is the right time for us to look forward. We wish Jim and his family all the best in their future endeavors and thank them for their service to Boston College.”

With this being said the assistant coach Scott Spinelli will be taking over as interim coach for the last 5 games of the season, the next game that will be his first game as interim coach will be this Wednesday at Georgia Tech at 12 PM EST. The Eagles will be looking for a new coach this next off season to try to turn around the basketball program, sort of how the football program did with Jeff Hafley.
