The Raiders dealing OL Trent Brown to the Patriots, after agreeing to a restructured contract for 1 year, $11M according to ESPN’s Field Yates. The Patriots are receiving a 2022 7th round pick, and the Raiders are receiving a 2022 5th Round Pick.

Brown, 27, was a part of the Patriots 2018 team that would go on to win the Super Bowl, and started every game that season after the Patriots acquired him from the 49ers in 2018. He would later sign with the Raiders on a 4 year, $66M deal that offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

But he 6-8, 380 pound O-Lineman appeared in just 16 games across the past two seasons for the Raiders, and struggled to stay healthy. Trent Brown can play both left and right tackle, and it could mean Marcus Cannon will be released. While the Patriots aren’t in need of cap space by any means, it would save the Patriots $6.3M in cap space.

It also adds depth, and might be the replacement for Joe Thuney. Who most presume will leave the Patriots this offseason via free agency, as Thuney is an unrestricted Free Agent.
