Earlier today, it was announced that Cam Newton would be returning to Foxboro, on a One-Year-Deal worth up to $14M.
Newton, 31, will receive a $3.5M salary for this upcoming season. Newton also will receive up to $1.5M in per-game roster bonuses, and up to $9M in incentives such as playoffs, Pro Bowl, MVP, Super Bowl, etc. All of which are according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
The Patriots can easily absorb the $3.5M cap hit of Cam Newton, as that will put the Patriots at roughly $50-55M in cap space.
