After 7 free agent signings on Monday, the Patriots have added another. Hunter Henry is now a Patriot, according to The Athletic.
The deal has $25M guaranteed, and Henry can earn up to $37.5M across the 3 years. Henry had a career best season last year. He caught a career high 60 passes for 613 yards.
Henry, 26, was a second round pick in 2016 by the Chargers. He has 2,322 career yards in 55 career games. The 6-5 250 pound tight end was franchise tagged by the Chargers last season, but the team opted to not tag him this year, making him a free agent.
This is addition of Hunter Henry is the second tight end the Patriots have added, as they added Jonnu Smith yesterday. These two additions come after the Patriots were at the very bottom of the league in tight end production ever since the departure of Rob Gronkowski.
