Here is a recap of some Patriots news that happened Wednesday that you might have missed:

Patriots sign C Ted Karras to a one-year-deal:

Very similar to Kyle Van Noy, Ted Karras spent 2016-2019 with the Patriots, and spent 2020 with the Dolphins. Similar to Van Noy, he will be rejoining the Patriots in 2021. From 2016-2018, he was the backup center to the beloved David Andrews. He then started all of the 2019 season after Andrews was out all year with blood clots.

The 6-4 center then went to Miami for 2020, and started every game.

Now, Ted Karras is reportedly returning to New England, according to Tom Pelissero. The deal is said to be worth a very cheap $4M in Karras’ return to New England.

This could possibly mean the David Andrews era in New England is over.

Patriots place 2nd Round Tender on JC Jackson:

The Patriots placed a 2nd round tender on JC Jackson yesterday, after a dominant 2020 where he had a team leading 9 interceptions.

With the 2nd round tender on Jackson, he will make a minimum of $3.384M in 2021.

Jackson, 25, has been with the Patriots since 2018, as he made many clutch plays during the 2018 playoffs, but 2020 was a career year for the undrafted rookie out of Maryland.

Jackson has multiple options: He can sign the tender, making him an unrestricted FA after this season, he can negotiate an extension with the Patriots, or land a contract with another team in which the Patriots would receive a 2nd round pick for, in compensation.

Patriots resign Special Teamer Cody Davis:

Special Teamer Cody Davis is returning to the Patriots on a two-year-deal, which he announced himself.

Davis broke the news himself on social media Wednesday afternoon, with help from Kane, his five-year-old son.

“Breaking news,” said Kane, decked out in his dad’s jersey. “Patriots for two more years.”

2020 was Davis’ first year with the Patriots, as the 31 year old has been with several teams since his rookie year in 2013. Including the Rams, who he was with from 2013-2017, playing on both the St. Louis Rams and LA Rams.

Davis, 31, then went to Jacksonville from 2018-2019, and then spent 2020 with the Patriots. He’ll be a Patriot in 2021 and 2022 as well.

Adam Butler signs two-year-deal with Dolphins:

Adam Butler has signed a 2-year-deal with the Dolphins, which is reportedly worth $9.5M.

Butler, 26, was with the Patriots from 2017-2020, and missed only one game through the four years which came in 2020.

The 6-foot-5 305 pound defensive tackle had 15 sacks in his stint with New England, after going undrafted out of Vanderbilt.

Buccaneers pursuing James White:

The Buccaneers are reportedly pursuing seven-year NFL veteran James White, who is a 3-time Super Bowl Champion.

White is an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

White would join his former teammate in New England Tom Brady, who was a part of the 3 Super Bowls White has won.

During his seven years, White has been more of a receiving back. He has 369 receptions with 3,185 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns. He has 1,240 rushing yards with 309 rushes through his career, as well as 10 touchdowns in his 7 years.

It seems unlikely the Patriots will resign him.
