Here is some Patriots news that happened on Thursday which you may have missed:

Patriots resign kicker Nick Folk on a one-year-deal:

The Patriots resign kicker Nick Folk, on a 1 year, $1.625M deal.

Folk, entering his age 37 season, started his 2019 midway through the season for the Patriots after Gostkowski went down with an injury. He was just under 83% on FG%, at 14/17 in 7 games, 8 if you include the playoffs.

In 2020, Folk was very solid playing all 16 games. The 13 year veteran was 26 of 28, at 92%.

Folk returns to the Patriots hoping to continue his 2020 success in 2021.

Patriots trade Ryan Izzo to Texans for 7th round pick:

The Patriots are reportedly sending Ryan Izzo to Houston for a 2022 7th round pick.

This comes after the Patriots went from the worst TE room in the NFL with Izzo being TE1, to the Patriots having the best TE room in the NFL after two signings in less than a week.

Izzo, 26, would’ve been the 4th tight end on the depth chart if he had stayed, with Matt LaCosse coming back after opting out in 2020. In Izzo’s two years as a Patriot, Izzo tallied 19 receptions for 313 yards on 29 targets. That was in a total of 18 games across the two years.

Patriots Sign Montravius Adams:

Adams, 25, is entering his 5th NFL season, this one with the Patriots. Adams was a Packer his career before he signed with New England, as the D-Tackle has appeared in 45 games across 4 years as a Packer.

The 6-foot-4 tackle has 44 tackles in his career, and 11 of which came in 2020. His best campaign came in 2018, where he finished with a sack and a half, and 20 tackles.

The deal is a one-year-deal worth up to $2.5M.

Patriots Release DT Beau Allen:

Beau Allen did not play a single game with the Patriots in 2020, as the 6 year veteran was injured all year after the Patriots acquired him in the prior offseason.

Here’s what the 29 year old defensive tackle had to say about his release on twitter:

“Thank you @patriots for the opportunity. I’m proud to say I never took the easy way out and did everything in my power to play this game I love. Looking forward to seeing what else football has in store for me!”

Patriots Release WR Marqise Lee:

Lee was signed in free agency the prior offseason, but he opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19.

The 29 year old had spent 2014-2019 with the Jaguars, racking up 174 receptions on 306 targets with 2,184 yards.

He struggled to stay healthy through his tenure in Jacksonville, playing just 59 regular season games in 6 seasons, and he played just 6 games in 2019 totaling just 18 yards on the season.
