The Boston Celtics headed out of TD Garden Friday night with a loss against the Sacramento Kings; dropping the Celtics below .500 for the first time this season at 20-21.
With the loss of Gordon Hayward the Celtics bench has been mediocre at best. The Celtics have very limited scoring options outside of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. The front office is partly to blame for the lack of depth, by not getting a replacement for Gordon.
The Celtics right now lack energy and effort, on both ends of the floor. They lack good ball moment and they don’t play aggressive on defense. That may be due to lack of fans; with fans at TD garden is one of the toughest places to play. The new brand of basketball for the C’s seems to be iso ball compared to last years offense.
The Celtics roster is a complete mess and Danny Ainge is to blame for this one, letting many valuable assets go in the off season such as Enes Kanter, Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier. Danny Ainge has failed time and time again to find replacements and it has left with Brad Stevens nothing to work with.
With the Celtics now at 20-21, they have an important stretch of games here upcoming, with them hanging on to a playoff spot by a thread. They’ve now fallen to 7th in the East, and losses like Friday night against Sacramento can not happen down the stretch. Especially against mediocre at best teams like the Kings.
The Celtics look to defeat the Magic Sunday afternoon at 3:30 PM EST.
