After it looked like James White was headed to Tampa Bay to rejoin Brady, James White is returning to New England according to CLNS Media’s Evan Lazar.

The deal is reportedly one year, while contract details are not released yet.

In his 7-year-career, all years with the Patriots, White has 3,184 yards through the air on 369 receptions. As well as 1,240 yards on the ground with 309 rushes.

White was utilized more and more throughout his career as a receiving back as the years went on. He’s been very versatile in his career.

The 29 year old had a down 2020 though, playing 14 games with 49 receptions and 35 rushes, compared to 72 receptions and 67 rushes in 2019, as well as 87 receptions and 94 rushes in 2018. The down year came after Damien Harris stepped up as the RB1 in 2020, and proved to be by far the best running back in the Patriots backfield.

White was a part of three Super Bowl Championships in New England, scoring the game winning touchdown in OT to win Super Bowl 51 in 2017.

Stay tuned, as the rest of the contract details are yet to be released. But we do know that the money is fully guaranteed and it’s for one year.
