BC News: Mens Basketball & Football Both Add Players, Mens Hockey Season Ends in Loss to St. Cloud State & More

Boston College earned the commitment of basketball recruit Kanye Jones. The 6’4 170 pound class of 2021 shooting guard from Florida announced his commitment to Boston College. Kanye Jones also had offers from Cleveland St, Buffalo, USF, FIU, Elon and East Tennessee St among others.

To wrap up the mens basketball side of news, Anthony Goins will be joining Earl Grant and his coaching staff as an assistant. Goins was a Clemson assistant and a New England recruiter. His experience in the northeast area will

Boston College also earned the commitment of football recruit Luke McLaughlin. McLaughlin, WR, will be joining the ‘21 class as a preferred walk on. The commit is from Hudson, Ohio.

The Boston College men’s hockey team’s season came to an end Sunday night with a loss to St. Cloud St. in the NCAA tournament. The Huskies with the win advanced to the Frozen Four. After getting out to a 1-0 lead thanks to a Matt Boldy goal, the Huskies stormed back into the game. They took a 2-1 lead into the second intermission. BC was held scoreless for the rest of the game after the Boldy goal.

Matt Boldy, Spencer Knight and Mike Hardman have signed pro contracts with their pro teams.

Freshman defenseman Tim Lovell has also entered the transfer portal, as he recorded 2 assists and no goals in 2020.
