With the Bruins losing on Thursday to these very same penguins, the Briuns were looking to bounce back from Thursday’s loss. 

Early on in the game at the 16:36 mark, Mike Matheson took a harmless shot from the sideboards on to Halak which was tipped by several bruins and penguins players and found its way over the shoulder of Jaroslav Halak to make it 1-0 Penguins. Later on, with just 11 seconds in to the second period after a great forecheck by Marchand as Bergeron gathers the rebound and scores to tie the game at 1-1.

Again 45 seconds in to the second period David Pastrnak buries a rebound on the short side of Case Desmith to give the Bruins the lead 2-1. At the 17:15 mark in the second period, Sidney Crosby did Crosby things behind the net to feed a beautiful pass in front to Jake Guentzel to tie the game up at 2-2.

Later in the frame at the 14:49 mark in the second Jarred Mccann received a nice pass on a 2 on 1 to give the Penguins a 3-2 lead. At the 5:04 mark in the second period after a great play by Matt Grzelyck in the offensive zone he fed Brad Marchand to tie the game at 3-3.

At the 1:31 mark of the second period with the Bruins on the powerplay, Brad Marchand gives David Krejci a tap in to give the bruins a 4-3 lead from a powerplay goal. With just 19.9 remaining in the second period, Marchand wired a beautiful shot from the hashmarks short side right off of the face-off. Marchand’s goal would extend the Bruins lead to 5-3 late in the second period.

At the 15:22 mark of the third period defensman Cody Ceci wired a shot over Halak’s shoulder to make the game a one goal game at 5-4. With 6:32 to go in the third, after a nice strong play by Ritchie, David Pastrnak wired home his second of the game to extend the Bruins lead to 6-4.

At the 1:15 mark of the third period, Sidney Crosby scores a fluke goal shorthanded to bring the Penguins closer 6-5 with plenty of time left. At the 1:01 minute mark Brad Marchand buried an empty net goal to cap off the hat trick to propel the bruins to a 7-5 victory.

The Bruins sit at 4th in the East Divison 7 points behind the penguins for 3rd. The Bruins are back at it Monday against the struggling Flyers.
