Bruins backup goaltender Jaroslav Halak will be out for tonight’s game after testing positive for COVID-19. Starter Tuukka Rask has also been ruled out with an upper body injury.
Halak being put in COVID Protocols means that the goalkeeping responsibilities will lie in the hands of Dan Vladar and Jeremy Swayman. Vladar will start, while Swayman will be called up to back him up.
Vladar has posted a 2-1 record with the Bruins this season, with a 2.03 GAA.
The rookie Swayman has posted an 8-1 record with Providence in the AHL this season. He was also just named the Metlife Player of the Month for March, after going 3-1 with a 1.81 GAA.
Swayman may see his first career start tomorrow, in the second half of the back to back. The Bruins drop the puck against the Flyers tonight at 7:00.
