After it seemed like Justin Fields was going to be a Patriot, the Bears traded up to the 11th pick and snagged him right out of the Patriot’s hands.
That left the national champion QB left on the board, and the Patriots grabbed Jones with the 15th pick.
Jones, in 13 games during the 2021 NCAA season threw for 4,500 yards, and completed 311 out of 402 pass attempts. He threw for 41 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions in a season where he led Nick Saban’s squad to the National Championship.
