The Red Sox added more pitching depth Monday, claiming now ex-Mariner reliever Brandon Brennan off waivers.

Boston added Brennan per a team statement, and optioned him to AAA Worcester.The move forced Ryan Brasier to go to the 60 day IL to make room for Brennan.

Since 2019, the 29 year old has a 4.45 ERA in 49 appearances. But just six of them came in 2020, after he had a season ending oblique strain.

Brennan started 2021 with the Mariners Alternate site, and he’ll join the Worcester Red Sox.
