Red Sox first baseman Bobby Dalbec came into Saturday’s matchup in Baltimore hitless in his last 27 at-bats.

Dalbec first ended the drought with a single in the third inning, but in the fourth he unloaded the bases with a three run bomb into right field to give the Red Sox the 4-0 lead.

Eduardo Rodriguez went five innings, giving up just one run off seven hits, while walking three and only striking out two. The lefty threw 91 pitches, and although has a history of going very deep into games, Cora decided to remove him.

Sawamura went an inning allowing a solo big fly, followed by two scoreless frames from Whitlock, and Valdez to close it out since it wasn’t a save situation for Barnes.

Aside from the home run from Dalbec, the Red Sox put three other runs on the board. One came in the fourth from a Hunter Renfroe RBI single, another came in the eighth off of an RBI double from Christian Vazquez, and an another RBI double from Marwin Gonzalez in the ninth gave the Red Sox their sixth run of the game.

The Red Sox have become the first team in the majors to win 20 games this season, and are sitting at 20-13 on the year.

Boston will take on Baltimore again Saturday night with Garrett Richards on the mound.
