Taylor Hall’s Overtime Heroics Lift Bruins Past Islanders

The Boston Bruins played their final game in TD Garden for the regular season on Monday night against the New York Islanders. Bruins started Tuuka Rask in net and the Islanders went with Semyon Valarmov.

The Islanders had a total of 8 minutes in the box during the first period and the Bruins only capitalized on one of those penalties; a power play goal by Taylor Hall. Bruins led the end of the first 1-0.

Islanders scored the equalizer within only 1:38 into the second, a goal power play goal from Oliver Whastrom. Boston went on an offensive surge after the goal which finally ended with a goal from Brad Marchand his 29th goal of the season. Matthew Barzal of the Islanders took the next goal to tie it up at two.

The Islanders changed goalies to start the third period going with Iyla Sorokin. A stalemate followed for the third ending regulation in a tie where we got free hockey.

The overtime winner was an amazing one for Taylor Hall where he split the two defenders and dumped it in to win the game for the Bruins.

Bruins wrap up the season on Tuesday against the Capitals which is a preview for their first round playoff matchup.
