Kike Hernandez Activated From IL; Christian Arroyo Rehabbing in AAA

Kike Hernandez has been re-instated from the injured list, after a 10 day stint because of a hamstring injury.

The move sends down infielder Jonathan Arauz, who in 10 plate appearances walked twice, and went 2-for-8 including a single and a double.

Hernandez will return to the Red Sox lineup Tuesday as well; he’ll hit leadoff while playing centerfield. The 29-year old utility player is hitting .239 with an OPS of .737, and four home runs. (98 wRC+, .314 wOBA, .313 xwOBA)

“10 days felt like a month,” Hernandez said before Tuesday’s game. “Glad to be back.”

He homered twice while rehabbing in AAA Sunday, including a grand slam propelling the WooSox to a 10-5 win.

Christian Arroyo in AAA, rehabbing:

Christian Arroyo was said to be taking batting practice with the WooSox today, and that they’ll know more about him afterwards. He’s not in Worcester’s starting lineup.

Arroyo is hitting .275 this season, with no homers and an OPS of .700 (.316 wOBA, .274 xwOBA, 99 wRC+)
