Nick Pivetta was tortured by the Blue Jays offense Saturday afternoon, getting rocked for four homers after a disastrous four-run fifth inning from the Blue Jays, that included three fo the four homers given up.

After allowing just two runs through four innings, Pivetta would finish the day giving up six runs on six hits, while walking two and striking out six through five. Every one of the six runs given up, were off of homers.

The Red Sox’ only sources of offense came in the sixth and eighth inning, with Christian Vazquez delivering an RBI single in the sixth and Rafael Devers tripling in the eighth to drive in the second run.

Newly called up Brandon Brennan was able to muster three scoreless innings out of the pen, while permitting two walks and three hits. Brandon Workman tossed the ninth, giving up a solo home run.

The Red Sox look to Sunday where they take on the Jays in game three of a four-game set. Sunday consists of Martin Perez and Robbie Ray on the mound.
