As everyone was preparing for the debut of Jarren Duran, the Red Sox and Yankees’ All-Star breaks were extended to an extra day.
The Yankees had three confirmed positive tests, one of which included Yankees star outfielder, Aaron Judge. The other two, were Kyle Higashioka and Gio Urshela.
Because of that, Judge will be out for the next ten days, which means the Red Sox won’t have to face him for this weekend’s series, as well as next weekend’s four-game series in Boston.
Because Judge was at the All-Star game (with Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers, Nathan Eovaldi, Matt Barnes), it has triggered contract tracing across other All-Stars. So far, nothing has come out of it.
Judge is hitting .282/.375/.526 this season, while blasting 21 homers and recording 47 RBIs, to go along with his 147 wRC+ through 84 games.
