Boston Red Sox Lineup: Jarren Duran Sitting Friday vs. Yankees’ Left-Hander Jordan Montgomery; Kike Hernandez Leads Off in Center

Tonight the Red Sox will take on the Yankees to kickstart both the second half of the season, and a shortened three-game series between the two clubs. As what was a three-day All-Star break turned into a four-day break after Thursday night’s game was postponed due to COVID-19. Thursday’s game will be moved to August 17th.

Jarren Duran’s debut will have to wait again, as he’ll be sitting against the lefty Jordan Montgomery.

Alex Cora mentioned Thursday that Duran might see limited action against left-handers. The left-handed hitter Duran has somewhat of a noticeable difference in his splits between right and lefty pitching at Triple-A Worcester this season.

The Yankees are without Aaron Judge, Kyle Higashioka, and Gio Urshela as they tested positive for COVID-19, as well as Luke Voit, who headed to the 10-day injured list via left knee inflammation. Because of that, the Yankees have called up four players: outfielder Greg Allen, catcher Rob Brantly, first baseman Chris Gittens, and infielder Hoy Jun Park
