The Red Sox take on the Yankees Friday night, as Eduardo Rodriguez will take on Gerrit Cole in what looks like it’ll be a pitchers duel.
Here are the roster moves the Yankees made today:
Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following roster moves:
• Reinstated LHP Nestor Cortes (#65) and RHP Jonathan Loaisiga (#43) from the COVID-19 I.L.
• Transferred RHP Darren O’Day to the 60-day I.L.
• Optioned RHP Nick Nelson to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.— New York Yankees (@Yankees) July 23, 2021
They also optioned Brooks Kriske to Triple-A, after he threw four wild pitches and allowed the Red Sox to score twice in the 10th and walk it off.

The Red Sox also made a move, sending Hirokazu Sawamura to the 10-Day IL while Phillips Valdez was recalled from the WooSox.
Last time Cole faced the Red Sox, he tossed six one-run innings to lead the Yankees to victory last weekend. But the time before that, the Red Sox piled on six runs and eight hits through just five innings.
Jarren Duran will be making his first start at Fenway.
