The Boston Bruins picked their first defenseman in the 2021 NHL Draft with the selection of Ryan Mast. The Bruins used the 181st overall pick to select their first defenseman.
Mast, standing at 6-foot-4, and at 212 pounds is one of the biggest defensemen prospects in the draft. The Bloomfield, Michigan native finished the 2019-20 season with one goal and 11 points in 58 games. However, he didn’t play this season due to the cancellation of the OHL season because of COVID-19.
Mast is a big body that could prove to be a solid defenseman, but he’s said that he’ll be returning to the OHL for the next season to play for the Sarnia Sting.
