The Boston Bruins had two selections in the seventh round of the 2021 NHL Draft. With the 213rd overall selection, they picked Andre Gasseau. Gasseau, the second consecutive 6-foot-4, 200-pounder picked by the Bruins, played this season on the U.S. National U17 team, the U18 team and the USNTDP junior team. Five picks later, they chose Ty Gallagher. Gallagher also played on the U17 and U18 teams for the USA.
Gasseau, the forward, scored 12 goals and acquired 27 points for the U18 team in 42 games. He also netted three goals along with eight points in 23 games for the USNTDP team. Gallagher, the defenseman, also had 27 points on the U18 team, but he did so with 14 goals and 13 assists in 48 games. On the USNTDP team, Gallagher scored five goals and finished with 12 points in 25 games.
Conveniently, both Gasseau and Gallagher will play close to each other next season and also very close to the Bruins. Gasseau will be playing for Boston College during the 2021-22 season and Gallgher will be playing for Boston University. So, both players will get familiar with the Boston area before they play for the Bruins.
