Boston Red Sox Lineup: Franchy Cordero to Make First Career Major-League Start at First Base, Batting Last; Bobby Dalbec Sits vs. Yankees

The Red Sox look to rebound Sunday afternoon, as they take on the Yankees after a heart-crushing loss Saturday.

Franchy Cordero will get his first start at first base, as he learned to play the position with Triple-A Worcester. He’s made six starts (38 innings) with the WooSox at first base, and, while it’s a small sample size, hasn’t made an error.

Cordero was just recalled the other day, and went 0-for-1 yesterday with two walks, appearing in right field. The left-handed bat has made 100 career appearances in the majors, 98 in the outfield and two at DH.

In other Red Sox news, Chris Sale will be throwing 4-5 innings today with Double-A Portland, as the Sea Dogs take on the Harrisburg Senators. It will be his third rehab start, as in his last one he tossed 3 2/3 no-hit innings against the Senators.
