Jarren Duran has been placed on the COVID-19 related injured list, the team announced Friday. As a corresponding move, Jonathan Arauz has been recalled from Triple-A Worcester. Since Michael Chavis has been traded, Arauz has essentially taken his spot as the guy who moves up and down between the WooSox and Red Sox.
The #RedSox today placed outfielder Jarren Duran on the COVID-19 Related Injured List.
To fill Duran’s spot on the active roster, the Red Sox recalled infielder Jonathan Araúz from Triple-A Worcester.

“It’s the same situation as Barnesy the other day,” Cora said. “Obviously, not great, where we’re at. But he’s gonna go through the whole thing, the whole process, and hopefully we can get good news later on.”
Matt Barnes was feeling sick the other day, and Boston placed him on the COVID-19 injured list. But, the closer tested negative for the virus and recorded a save the next day.
“He’s at the hotel and everything is done in the hotel over there,” said Cora. “Actually, we all got tested today again, because of everything that is going on, but his is at the hotel and it’s not gonna be at the ballpark. So we’re waiting.”
Arauz is 4-for-14 with the Red Sox this season (.286/.412/.357), belting no homers but has tallied one double, two runs, one RBI, three walks, and five strikeouts through seven games with the team.
