Celtics Stay Perfect in NBA Summer League With Rout of 76ers

LAS VEGAS — The Celtics improve to 4-0 in the Summer League with a 100-80 win over Philadelphia. Zach Auguste led all scorers with 18 points on 7-for-9 shooting. The C’s shot well from the field as a team once again including 44.4% from deep.

This perfect start is showing signs of promise for the Celtics young players for this upcoming season. The key contributors for this team have been last years rookies, Pritchard and Nesmith, as well as Langford and Edwards.

C’s newcomer, Bruno Fernando, is making the most of his opportunity this summer. In just 15 minutes of action, the Boston center scored nine points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

The Celtics lone draft pick this season, Juhann Begarin, put together a notable performance. The young french guard did a little bit of everything in the blowout win. He scored eight points and recorded four assists while also showing off his defensive ability with two blocks. It is clear he is an unfinished product but Begarin is showing promising signs for the Celtics thus far.

Tonight’s win puts this Celtics squad in position to compete for the Summer League championship. The top two teams will be selected and they have a strong case to be selected. They are the first team to reach four wins and have won their games in decisive fashion. If they are selected for the championship, that game will be played on Tuesday night at 9:00 p.m. ET.
