The reason for the move hasn’t been disclosed, as the move happened after manager Alex Cora met with the media. There is a possibility he has COVID, but what has been a common occurrence for Boston this season is just symptoms of the flu, or just contact tracing.
Taylor could return as soon as Tuesday if he tests negative.
As noted by Masslive.com, the lefty had the virus last season. The southpaw has had a solid season, posting a 3.23 ERA through 48 outings, to go along with a 2.93 FIP.
