N’Keal Harry And Other Patriots Change Number For Upcoming Season

N'Keal Harry

Several New England Patriots, most notably N’Keal Harry and Nelson Agholor, have changed their number for the upcoming 2021 NFL season.

Harry, who is currently on injured reserve, scooped up Cam Newton’s No. 1 after the quarterback was released by the team. It was the number Harry wore for several years at Arizona State. The Patriots, including Harry, have now seen four players now take advantage of the NFL’s relaxed number policy. The rule limits skill position players from having single digit numbers.

Agholor, with Harry’s No. 15 now being available, chose to switch from No. 17 to No. 15 for this season. Agholor has worn 17 for his entire career.

Other players changing numbers includes Harvey Langi switching from No. 52 to No. 48, and third-round pick defensive lineman Christian Barmore moving from No. 90 to No. 70. The number Barmore wore in college as teammate of Mac Jones at Alabama, 58, is held by Anfernee Jennings — making it unavailable. Jennings is currently on the IR, with Harry.
