The New England Patriots released their inactive list before Sunday’s first road game of the season, as they take on the New York Jets in the Meadowlands at 1 p.m. EST.
New England has six players inactive, as they don’t need to list seven with the roster only being at 52 men.
RB Rhamondre Stevenson, CB Shaun Wade, LB Ronnie Perkins and TE Devin Asiasi are the four healthy scratches, meaning RB J.J. Taylor will suit up for his 2021 debut after a strong preseason. Stevenson fumbled in Week 1 vs. the Miami Dolphins, something you don’t want to do with Bill Belichick as your head coach, and was blown up pass blocking.
Trent Brown (calf), and Kyle Van Noy (throat) are the two players who are sidelined due to injury. Both had been dealing with the injuries all week.
Ronnie Perkins had been dealing with a shoulder injury this week, but was listed as a healthy scratch — he likely recovered. Jonnu Smith was questionable, after being limited in Thursday and Friday’s practice with a hip injury — but he will play. Quinn Nordin and Malcolm Perry remain on IR.
Tashawn Bower was elevated from the practice squad, and Brian Hoyer was also signed permanently to the 53-man roster.
