Romeo Langford Drills Game-Winner as Celtics Sneak Past Magic in Preseason Opener

Boston Celtics vs. Orlando Magic

The Boston Celtics are now 1-0 in the preseason after a tightly contested 98-97 win over the Orlando Magic on Monday night.

Celtics guard Jaylen Brown was strong in his first game back from his wrist injury, as he led all Celtics scores by notching 26 points on 8-for-16 shooting and went 4-for-12 behind the arch. Another catalyst in the Celtics win over the Magic was Forward Jayson Tatum, as Tatum finished with 18 points, shooting 6-for-16 from the field, and just 1-for-4 from behind the arch.

The C’s played with great effort and energy on the floor, C’s displaying great ball movement, as they notched 19 assist as a team. The Celtics were trailing in the fourth quarter as much as nine. with four minutes to go the Celtics fueled an 11-2 run cutting the Magic lead to one.

In the final minutes, an interception by Romeo Langford led to a chance for the game-winner. With 14.2 seconds left, Langford drilled a go-ahead three-pointer to give the Celtics the lead and secure the victory.

The Celtics will look to improve to 2-0 in the preseason on Saturday night against the Raptors at 7:00 p.m. EST.
