The Boston Celtics improved to 2-0 in the preseason after a tightly contested 113-111 over the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night.
Celtics forward Jayson Tatum was strong for the Celtics in tonight’s game, leading all Celtics scorers by notching 20 points on 6-for-15 shooting and went 3-for-10 from behind the arch. Another catalyst in the Celtics win over the Raptors was forward Al Horford, as Horford finished with 16 points, shooting 6-9 from the field, and went 4-4 from behind the arch.
The C’s played with great effort and energy on the floor, displaying great ball movement, as they notched 29 assists as a team. The Celtics were up as many as nine points in the fourth quarter, with five minutes to play in the fourth quarter.
In the final minutes, a pair of free throws by Juancho Hernangomez would give the C’s a two-point lead, with 7.4 seconds remaining. The Celtics then held a great defensive stop to secure the win.
The Celtics will look to improve to 3-0 in the preseason on Wednesday night against the Magic at 7:00 p.m. EST.
