Celtics Blow 19-Point Lead, Lose to Cavaliers, 91-89

The Boston Celtics lose another game after leading by double-digits.

The lead ballooned up to as many as 19 in the second half. This is not the first time the Celtics have blown a double-digit lead this season and it’s definitely something they shouldn’t make a habit of.

Their failure to grab defensive boards late and a missed shot by Dennis Schroder at the buzzer was the final straw of their second-half downfall.

The only bright spots on the night came from Schroder and Robert Williams III’s performances.

Schroder finished with his second straight night with a high point total, scoring 28 in the contest. Williams scored 12 points, hauled in a game-high 16 boards, and blocked three shots.

Jayson Tatum had another poor shooting night and finished with six turnovers.

The Celtics are still playing well as of late but this loss certainly raises some questions about whether or not this team is ready to shake old habits.

Boston will need to come out firing during their rematch with the Cavs on Monday in order to put Celtics fans at ease.
