The Boston Celtics struggled to get in an offensive rhythm in Wednesday night’s loss to the Hawks. Jayson Tatum and the rest of the starters played a great game but had no help from the bench.

Tatum was the star of the night, scoring 34 points on efficient shooting, grabbing nine boards, and dishing out five assists.

The difference in tonight’s game was the bench play for both teams.

The Celtics’ bench failed to make an impact, as Josh Richardson was the only bench player to score for them on the night.

The Hawks bench, on the other hand, played a much better game. They were led by Cam Reddish’s 19 points and three steals. The Hawks bench ended up outscoring the Celtics bench 32-11 and ultimately made the difference.

The Celtics will return to Boston for a four-game homestand and await the return of Jaylen Brown.
