The Boston Red Sox pulled off a midnight shocker in the midst of all the lockout news, dealing Hunter Renfroe to the Brewers in return for longtime Boston outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr., as well as prospects Alex Binelas and David Hamilton who are both infielders.

Renfroe had a strong 2021 season with Boston, although he struggled defensively aside from his arm. The right fielder hit .259/.315/.501, crushing 31 homers and posting a 114 wRC+.

Bradley Jr. had a strong 2020 but struggled mightily in 2021, hitting .163 through 134 games posting just a 35 wRC+ with six homers. He does remain a solid defender with an even better arm.

Binelas, a 21-year-old left-handed bat who hit .314 and clubbed nine homers while the third baseman posted a 163 wRC+ through 29 games at the A level. Hamilton hit eight homers in 101 games during 2021 (68 in A+, 33 in AA), posting a 104 wRC+ in Double-A while hitting .248 after he hit .263 with a 114 wRC+ with High-A.

More to come on the deal.
