Tuukka Rask Practices With Bruins as Emergency Goalie, Fills in For Linus Ullmark

Boston Bruins' Tuukka Rask

Tuukka Rask was at Boston Bruins practice Monday morning as an emergency goalie.

It was reported last week that Rask returned to practice after a torn hip labrum he suffered last season. Rask took part in pre-practice sessions with Boston’s goalie coach Bob Essensa last Monday. He filled in for Linus Ullmark, who missed practice with a non-COVID illness.

The 34-year-old goalie is still without a contract for this season. Rask has said in the off-season that Boston is his home and he won’t go anywhere else, but him still not having a contract should be worrisome to him and some fans. The Bruin’s Brass could very well be using this time to either let Rask heal on his own time, or this could be some sort of tryout for Rask to see if he can still be valuable to this team.

Whether it’s option A, B, or both, there will be a lot of happy Bruins fans to see Rask return back officially for the team.
