The rumors have been flying around for a few days now, but Sebastian Lletget to the New England Revolution is a done deal, per source. Though, it will likely not be officially announced quite yet.
The MLS Expansion Draft will happen on December 14th, one in which the LA Galaxy will be exempt as a result of losing Joe Corona in the last one. Because of this, the Revs will likely want to complete the trade after the conclusion of the expansion draft in order to avoid having to protect him.
Lletget has become a US National Team regular in the center of midfield, playing in nine games in 2021. He played 26 games for the Galaxy, scoring three goals, and assisting four. He has been with LA for the last seven years, and the Galaxy are shopping him in hopes of rebuilding their roster back up to their standard.
Lletget would likely jump over Tommy McNamara in the center-mid depth chart, and pick up a starting role, barring any other off-season pickups. Expect the Revolution to be very active in the next month, with a lot of spots to fill.
