Celtics’ Al Horford, Grant Williams Enter NBA’s Health and Safety Protocols as COVID-19 Outbreak Continues

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are one of many teams dealing with players in health and safety protocols. Al Horford and Grant Williams are joining teammate Jabari Parker on the COVID-19 injured reserve. Josh Richardson was previously in health and safety protocols but was cleared yesterday.

This is the second time this season that Horford has been sidelined due to Covid. He previously entered protocols in preseason training camp and missed the first game of the season.

Romeo Langford was also not feeling well at Wednesday’s practice according to head coach Ime Udoka, but there is no mention of him entering health and safety protocols.

As a result, the Celtics decided to cancel their morning shoot-around ahead of tonight’s game versus the Golden State Warriors.

The status of the NBA moving forward with so many players in protocols is unclear but as of now, the Celtics will still be facing off with the Warriors tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
