Everything to Know About Bruins’ COVID-19 Situation: Who’s in Protocol, Which Games Are Postponed, When Boston Will Return to Action

Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins were shut down until December 27th by the NHL due to their COVID-19 outbreak.

The idea of the shutdown was brought on by more cases of COVID-19 in the Bruin’s locker room. So far, the current players placed on protocol are Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, Craig Smith, Anton Blidh, Trent Frederic, Oskar Steen, Jeremy Swayman, Taylor Hall, and Curtis Lazar. Two staff members are also in protocol.

Four total games were postponed — games against the Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Carolina Hurricanes, and Colorado Avalanche. For the home games against the Hurricanes and Avalanche, tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates.

The Bruins organization has, and will continue to follow, all recommended guidelines aimed at protecting the health and safety of players, staff, and community at large as set by the NHL, local, and national agencies.

As of now, Boston will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins on the 27th.
