Shorthanded Celtics Fall to 76ers, 108-103

The Boston Celtics were unable to pull out the win against the 76ers Monday night by a final score of 108-103. Boston was without Al Horford, Josh Richardson, Grant Williams, Juancho Hernangomez, Jabari Parker, Sam Hauser, and Brodric Thomas due to COVID-19. The team added C.J. Miles before the action.

Leading the team in scoring, with 30, was Jaylen Brown. Brown was able to keep Boston within striking distance while playing a huge role for the Celtics.

Jayson Tatum continued to show why he was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week, notching 17 points.

After an emotional win against the New York Knicks, the Celtics struggled offensively. Brown and Tatum carries the load while Payton Prichard, Aaron Nesmith, Romeo Langford played energetic minutes down the stretch in the losing effort. The young trio combined for just 18 points but also combined for 59 minutes.

Enes Freedom was forced to play 40 minutes with the C’s being without Horford, and he posted 14 points but struggled on defense against Joel Embiid. Boston was able to stay close to Philadelphia throughout the affair but could never pull ahead before having the lead snatched out of their hands.
