Boston Celtics big man Enes Kanter Freedom is entering the NBA’s health and safety protocols, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

This is becoming the new normal for teams across the league where so many players are in health and safety protocols. Freedom is the eighth player to enter protocols for the C’s and leaves the team with only two healthy centers.

Although Freedom doesn’t boast staggering numbers, losing an extra body at center will make things tough on Robert Williams III to carry the bulk of the load. His only true backup is Bruno Fernando so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Celtics run some small ball lineups during their Christmas day matchup with the Bucks.
