Boston Bruins prospect Zach Senyshyn said that his agent has asked the Bruins for a trade. Senyshyn was drafted 15th overall in 2015 and was the third consecutive pick the Bruins had in the first round. Boston drafted Jakub Zboril and Jake DeBrusk 13th and 14th overall in that same draft.
Since being drafted in 2015, Senyshyn has posted 87 goals and 130 points in 125 games for the OHL’s Soo Greyhounds, 48 goals and 92 points for the Providence Bruins in 213 games and one goal and three points in 14 NHL games with the Bruins.
“Obviously, I’m super thankful to everyone in Providence for all of their help in the development of my game, but I want to play in the NHL,” he said. “I feel like I haven’t been given that opportunity in the Bruins organization.”
“I feel like my game has gotten to that level where I’m ready to play and I’m ready to make an impact. With the way the Bruins organization has been going, it just doesn’t seem like I’m in the mix.”
DeBrusk, a fellow 2015 first-rounder for the team, also requested a trade earlier this season. The 6-foot winger requested a trade on November 29 due to being healthy scratched and has posted just two goals for as many points since then. This season, he has five goals along with eight points in 25 games with the team.
