The Boston Bruins were rather impressive Monday afternoon, picking up a 5-1 Presidents Day victory over the NHL-best Avalanche. Taylor Hall assisted three of the goals, while David Pastrnak was the reason for two of them.

Pastrnak would get Boston on the board early, as Charlie McAvoy found the Bruins forward in the slot before Pastrnak one-timed it home for the 1-0 lead. The next tally wouldn’t come until almost the midway mark of the second, but Patrice Bergeron made it 2-0 after collecting his own rebound.

Pasta would be back for seconds, as he one-timed another one home in the high slot to make it 3-0.

The Avalanche would get on the board, but only for Jake DeBrusk to join the fun as he snuck it through the five-hole of Darcy Kuemper to make it 4-1 before Charlie Coyle would make it a four-goal lead by collecting a pass off the boards and sneaking it by Kuemper.

The Bruins would ride their 5-1 lead all the way through to the finish line, grabbing an impressive win over Colorado. With that, they receive a two-day break before getting back on the road for a six-game west coast road trip. They take on the Kraken Thursday night, at 10:00 p.m. EST.
