The Boston Bruins acquired defenseman Michael Callahan from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a 2024 seventh-round draft pick Tuesday, the team announced.

Callahan, 22, was drafted by Arizona in 2018 as a fifth-round pick. Now, the 6-foot-2 Franklin, Massachusetts product is a senior at Providence, playing in 134 games through his career for the Friars, scoring 13 goals to go along with 53 assists, and a plus-23 rating.

Boston will likely sign him after this season to Providence, the AHL affiliate, following his senior year with the Friars.
