Bruins Game Report: Brad Marchand Scores Twice, Boston Makes it 4 Straight in 3-1 Win Over Sharks

Bruins

The Boston Bruins made it four straight wins Saturday night against the San Jose Sharks, beating them 3-1 behind Brad Marchand and his pair of goals. It was a relatively easy night for Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman in terms of workload, only facing 16 shots, and stopping 15 of them.

Timo Meier had the only goal for the Sharks, which was a power-play goal that game with seven minutes left in the second period. Meier, at the faceoff dot of the right circle, one-timed a pass from Brent Bruns past Swayman to make it 1-1.

Marchand’s two goals and three points were what propelled Boston past San Jose Saturday though, as he one-timed a pass home from Jake DeBrusk to take the first-period lead, and he later gave the Bruins the lead right back as Taylor Hall found Marchand for another one-time pass to make it 2-1.

Marchand made it a three-point night as he assisted Patrice Bergeron’s empty netter to nail the coffin. The Bruins make it four straight wins, beating the Sharks in game two of their six-game slate out west.

Boston will take on the Kings Monday night, at 10:30 p.m. ET in game three of their six-game road trip — followed by the Ducks, Golden Knights, and they end it closer to home against the Blue Jackets.
