Bruins’ Matt Grzelcyk Out Monday vs. Kings

Bruins

Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk is out Monday night vs. the Los Angeles Kings, as Jack Ahcan will fill in on the second D-pairing with Brandon Carlo.

“(Grzelcyk) has an upper-body (injury) so he’ll be a game-time decision,” said Boston’s head coach Bruce Cassidy this morning. “We weren’t sure on the day off yesterday how he’d be today. So, if he can’t go then it’ll be Jack.”

Boston will receive a two-day rest following Monday’s game, as they take on the Coyotes Thursday before they host the Blackhawks Saturday to end the three-game homestand, so Grzelcyk will have plenty of time to rest.

Urho Vaakanainen should return from his injury either Thursday or Friday as well.
