The Revs will make their 2022 CONCACAF Champions League debut against PUMAS following their forfeit victory over Cavaly AS last month in the round of 16. Omar Gonzalez and Arnor Traustason are the notable New England Revolution lineup changes.
New England Revolution lineup vs. Pumas UNAM:
GK: EARL EDWARDS JR.
DEF: DEJUAN JONES, ANDREW FARRELL, OMAR GONZALEZ, BRANDON BYE
MID: MATT POLSTER, SEBASTIAN LLETGET, ARNÓR TRAUSTASON, CARLES GIL
FWD: ADAM BUKSA, GUSTAVO BOU
The lineup stays virtually unchanged from MLS league play. Henry Kessler has had a nagging injury and had to be substituted out of last weekend’s game against FC Dallas, meaning Gonzalez is back in the lineup.
The only real change is Traustason replacing Tommy McNamara in the center of midfield, a capable passer. He will make his season debut across all competitions. Earl Edwards Jr. remains in net.
New England Revolution will kickoff against Pumas at 8:00 p.m. ET in snowy conditions at Gillette Stadium. Read how to watch the game here.
